Almost from the beginning, someone started to think if one motor was good, two had to be better! Almost 50 years later, someone, (Joel Naprstek ) started thinking about just how many of these wonderful machines were built. 40? 60? 75??? Joel decided to present the question to a Newsgroup in the form of a trivia question. Well, as members began to search their memories and old drag racing papers and magazines, the list of twins started grow. Now, what to do with all this information? Byron Stack to the rescue! Why not a Web Site for twins? Byron was familiar with the importance of saving drag racing's history with his "Gasser Madness" Web Site, so, "Two To Go" was born. Well, enough of this, let's get to the Twins! One more thing, you will be listed at the end, but to ALL the people who made the contributions that make this site possible, a BIG THANK YOU!!!! If we missed anyone, please speak up..
Along with the famous, we will be presenting some veryunusual twins. For example the Jim Busby car. Lookinglike a small fortune sitting between the frame rails, due to USAC rule changes, Jim Busby purchased 5 of these motors for $3500.00. You will soon see that Chet Herbert was probably associated with more twins ( even a TRIPPLE ) than anyone we know of so far. Check out the motors in this rear engined creation! A pair of 8.3 liter Arias BB Chevys and some very unique (non-overhead cam ) billet cylender heads by Herbert.
